Wolff: "It was just Lewis' style to get out at the end"

Lewis Hamilton managed to get his Mercedes on pole position on Saturday, but according to team boss Toto Wolff, Valtteri Bottas was the Mercedes driver who set the pace at Silverstone.
Bottas better in qualifying
"Valtteri was at the forefront of the entire qualifying session, both on the medium and the soft. It was just Lewis' style to get out at the end and that was extraordinary," says Wolff in conversation with Channel 4. Bottas was able to set faster times than Hamilton in Q1 and Q2.
"Valtteri had a very good qualifying. He kept improving until Q3, but then it just fell apart. Bottas didn't make a big mistake," Wolff continued.
Special lap Hamilton
Hamilton was not satisfied with his car at the beginning of qualifying. He even spun in the second qualifying session but came back in Q3. "Sector two [in Hamilton's fastest lap] was so much better than anything before and that's what makes it so special."
