Starting on softs should be the fastest option according to Pirelli

Pirelli brought the three hardest tyre compounds to Great Britain. Despite the fact that Lewis Hamilton, among others, has chosen to start on the medium tyre, Pirelli thinks that is the third fastest option for the race.
Starting on softs is the fastest option
Silverstone is a really high-speed circuit where the tyres are often very heavy. It won't be as hot today as it was last Friday and after Pirelli's calculations, the tyre supplier thinks a one-stop strategy will be the fastest today. The drivers who start on the soft tyres will benefit the most.
Top four starts on mediums
Hamilton is not one of those drivers. Due to the high wear and tear on the track he, together with Valtteri Bottas, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, chose to start the race on the medium tyres. Pirelli expects those drivers to change to the hardest tyre after about 20 to 25 laps.
Leclerc already stated in his interview after qualifying that he is happy to start on the medium tyres because this season's Ferrari has a lot of trouble with tyre wear.
If we were an @F1 team we’d have one of these in our #BritishGP playbook. #Fit4F1 pic.twitter.com/luuDPv8iuJ
