Ricciardo happy for Hulkenberg: "It's not just the car"

The second weekend at Silverstone went very well for Daniel Ricciardo. The Renault driver managed to achieve fifth place during qualifying, after he already set third fastest in the second free practice. He tells Sky Sports that he is satisfied with his result.

“It was good. I think everyone was a bit surprised with P3 yesterday. Pretty much every lap that session, I had to exhale and I felt like I got the most out of the car today," Ricciardo explains after qualifying.

Happy for Hulkenberg

"The rear of the car is definitely working better. We were able to get on the power earlier, you can feel the downforce is there." In 2019 Ricciardo drove together with Nico Hulkenberg at Renault. He is therefore pleased to see that the German has achieved third place for the race on Sunday.

"The Hulk has come in and I think he has adjusted his neck and is free and ready to go. Hats off to him. We all knoe the car is working but it's not down to the car only. He has been sitting on the couch for sometime and come back. Hats off to him," the Australian concludes.
