Tanabe tested a lot of settings: "It didn't work on the car"

Toyoharu Tanabe is working hard on the improvements to the Honda engine at the back of Red Bull Racing's RB16. The Japanese said he thought he had found improvements on Friday, but they didn't fit directly with the RB16.
Different settings
Tanabe says he immediately found a good improvement in the first free practice. However, the design of the RB16 didn't fit well with the new settings that Honda's top man came along with. "It didn't work with the car, so I tried some other things during the second practice session", says Tanabe to Japanese AutoSport.
Tanabe let me know that he was going to look at the data on Friday evening to find out what to do with it. Tanabe also talks about the MGU-H that went back to the factory. "I'm happy with the MGU-H. The reason we sent the MGU-H back to the factory is because we're only allowed to use three units a year."
Getting out on the hunt
Max Verstappen tells the Japanese medium that he is going to hunt for the Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas Mercedes: "I'm not that fast one lap yet, but in the longruns we look very strong. I'm looking forward to the race."
