Advice for Vettel: ''Only go to a team where you can win races''
- GPblog.com
During the Spanish Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel showed what he can do in a racing car by placing seventh for Ferrari. However, what should the German do next year, now that his contract with Ferrari is not being renewed?
Where can Vettel go?
''One step to Red Bull Racing or Mercedes is not going to work, except in a very special situation. Which other team can win? Yes, you could say Racing Point at the moment, but are they really so good that they can fight with Red Bull and Mercedes next season? I really have my doubts about that," Gerhard Berger said in an interview with Sky Germany.
''The big question, of course, is how he looks at his own future? Does he want to attack, does he want to try again? The only thing I can advise him is to choose a car in which you can at least win races. But at the moment I don't see that for him."
Discontent at Ferrari
In the meantime, the fire inside Ferrari is getting higher and higher. Vettel expresses his frustration about the car, but also more often about the strategic choices of his team. Ferrari wants to pretend that nothing is wrong, but of course that is not the case. According to Berger, Vettel also has nothing to lose.
''He has to walk with his chest in front of him there. He has four world titles in his pocket, which Charles Leclerc has to win first. Everyone knows that Sebastian hasn't forgotten how to drive and that something is wrong if Leclerc is just one second faster every time," Berger concluded.
