Marko received message from Hulkenberg: "He let us know that he's available"

Nico Hulkenberg replaced Sergio Perez during the two Grands Prix at Silverstone and that the 33-year-old driver was more than excellent. Helmut Marko complimented the German for his efforts, but the Austrian denies that Red Bull Racing is interested in his services.
After the British GP's Marko said he was impressed that after such a long break Hulkenberg immediately managed to qualify the Racing Point car third on the grid. After the interview, the top man of the Austrian race team also stated that Hulkenberg 'had his phone number'.
The German driver has actually made contact, Marko reveals to Motorsport-Total.com. "He let us know that he's available."
Although the man from Graz was very positive about Hulkenberg, the positive reviews don't have a higher goal. "That doesn't mean he'll be in the car with us," says Marko, who says he gave the compliments because of 'sporting fairness'.
He is still of the opinion that Hulkenberg has done a great job. "But if everybody comes to us about whom I say he drove a great race, we should have a team of ten cars. If one of them shows a good performance and you acknowledge this, it doesn't mean that he'll get a contract with us because of it," Marko concludes clearly. So for now Alexander Albon seems to remain Max Verstappen's teammate.
