Horner disapproves Verstappen frustrations: "He doesn't have the overview"

Many hoped for a victory for Max Verstappen in Barcelona, after his dominant victory at Silverstone the weekend before. However, the race in Spain ended in a decent second place for the Dutchman, well behind the winner Lewis Hamilton.
Verstappen was rather frustrated with the strategy of his own team Red Bull Racing. The Dutchman's soft tyres degraded quick and when the teams strategist decided to not call Verstappen in for a pitstop when he complained abbout his tyres, it led to an argument on the onboard radio between Verstappen and his racing engineer.
Team boss Christian Horner now gives his perspective on the argument: "He doesn't have the overview that we have on the pit wall, which is also supported by our people in Milton Keynes. He really wanted to get rid of the tyre that felt bad for him at the time, but there was a 'bigger picture'. That's what he found out after the race." says Horner on the podcast of Red Bull
The impressive performance of Max
Despite the bickering over the onboard radio, Horner is very happy with Verstappen: "It's a pity that Max dropped out in the first race. If that didn't happen, we would have been at least eighteen points closer. But still it is a series of great races from Max. He really gets the most out of Sundays. For now we're trying to get as much speed out of the car as possible, in order to close the gap to Mercedes."
