Verstappen is all Red Bull has to offer: 'In Barcelona you notice the frustration'

Max Verstappen may not yet have won a world title, but he is already compared to major champions in Formula 1. Jenson Button also compares the Dutchman with greats like Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna.
Verstappen demolishes teammates
In 2015 Verstappen made his debut in Formula 1 and it soon became clear that the Dutchman was a great talent. In the years that followed, Verstappen continuously developed and he has grown to be the leading driver at Red Bull Racing. Verstappen is now even so strong that the difference with his team mate led to a dismissal.
''I haven't seen that in Formula 1 for a long time. Then you really have to go back to the days of Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher. It has been a really long time since a driver wrecked his teammate. I would like to see him compete against Lewis Hamilton for the world title. That's all you want to see in the sport," said Jenson Button in the podcast In The Fast Lane.
Verstappen is on its own
However, it is not easy for Verstappen, which Red Bull has to carry on its own at the moment. ''For Max, it's very difficult without a competitive teammate. You have to do it yourself and then you don't make that much progress. Max won't look at Albon's setup, but rather at Mercedes and he gets frustrated by that'', says Button, who hopes that Verstappen will eventually be able to compete for the title.
''In Silverstone Verstappen was great, but in Barcelona you immediately notice the frustration about the onboard radio. He can't challenge Mercedes with the car he has. He has to make do with that car and get the most out of it, but that's very difficult'', concludes the world champion of 2009.
