For Charles Leclerc it will be an emotional weekend at Spa-Francorchamps. The Monegask won his very first Grand Prix there last season, but lost one day before that one of his best friends Anthoine Hubert.
Special Race
"The Spa circuit has a special place in my heart", says Leclerc in a preview of Ferrari. "This is where I won my first Formula 1 race, but a year ago, I lost my friend Anthoine in Formula 2. Therefore, it will be difficult to return to this circuit. He will be with me all weekend in my thoughts."
Looking ahead
Leclerc expects Ferrari to be a lot less strong than it was a year ago. "In terms of performance, it won't be easy for us to repeat the result of a year ago over the weekend. But we have seen that anything can happen on this track. Also by unpredictable weather."
The 22 year old driver says that from Friday everything must be in perfect order at the Scuderia to maximize the potential of the car. "In free practice we need to gather information that will allow us to choose the best strategy for qualifying and the race."
