F1 still investigates possibility to drive second race Bahrain on different layout
- GPblog.com
Formula 1 today announced the last four additions of the 2020 calendar with Turkey as a positive surprise. Bahrain will host two Grands Prix and the season will end in Abu Dhabi. However, it is still unclear if both GPs will be held on the same circuit in Bahrain.
Second race in Bahrain
Rumor has it that the second race on the Bahrain International Circuit will be held at the so-called Outer Loop layout. Instead of turning right at turn 4, the drivers will enter a fast corner section with a lot of 'esses' and then return to the GP circuit at turn 13.
"F1 is currently analysing various track layout possibilities for the second race. We will provide an update once that decision has been made", said the circuit in a Tweet.
Super fast laps
It would be a special move for Formula 1 to race on the fast Outer Loop layout for a Grand Prix. Lap times of less than one minute are expected in the fast-paced Outer Loop layout. A true 'Monza of the Middle East' like someone on Twitter says.
