Where other circuits are queuing up this season to organize a Grand Prix without spectators, Zandvoort decided early on not to do so. The question is whether they will do that again next season when they're in a similar situation.

Nobody knows anymore how long the COVID-19 pandemic will last and whether it will affect the number of spectators at F1 races in 2021. Circuit Zandvoort and the organizers have so far always stuck to the plan to turn the Dutch Grand Prix into a folk festival.

Zandvoort assumes that it will be on the calendar

Not only to please the fans, but it was also necessary financially. "We need the visitors to get the investment back", says circuit director Robert van Overdijk about cancelling the GP in 2020 to NOS. He does not yet make any statements about next year.

"It makes no sense for us to speculate. We stick to the fact that we are on the calendar for the next three years. We have loyal sponsors and a huge fan base for those years. It's exciting, but we're waiting patiently".
