Hamilton: "The only circuit comparable to Spa is the Nordschleife"

Spa-Francorchamps is one of the traditional circuits on the current F1 calendar. The circuit is the longest track and is known for its many legendary curves. Every year Lewis Hamilton looks forward to returning to the Belgian circuit and he compared it with another legendary circuit in Europe.
"The only circuit you can really compare Spa with is probably the Nürburgring-Nordschleife," said Hamilton according to Motorsport-Total.com. "Every year it is special to return. Not many circuits of this kind are being built now, nor are there many circuits left that resemble them."
A lot of history written
"So much history has been written on this circuit. It is extremely fast itself and that is probably one of the reasons why so many drivers see this track as one of their favourites. It is also one of the few circuits where overtaking is not so difficult," Hamilton continues.
"But the circuit is also complicated because there are two long straights where you want to drive as little downforce as possible.
But the second sector is a different story. "In that sector you need downforce, otherwise you really lose a lot of time. Many teams will have difficulty finding the right balance for all sectors."
