Horner remains positive: "Things can change"
Christian Horner praised the third place of Max Verstappen in the Grand Prix of Belgium. The 22 year old was able to keep up with Valtteri Bottas' pace, but that said it all. Horner also saw that fifteen World Championship points was the maximum possible at Spa-Francorchamps. Hope for a world title has not yet been given up.
“I think we are the outside bets since the Austrian Grand Prix, the first one. We continue to be an outsider and we are an outside chance in this championship," Horner said in an online press release from Red Bull. The Brit stressed that there have only been seven Grand Prixs to date. "Things can change from what we have seen so far."
Horner remains positive
The 46-year-old chief is realistic and says that Mercedes really is a lot more rapper than the RB16. "They’ve been extremely dominant today but it’s Max his sixth consecutive podium and he is second in the drivers' standings. It’s a very strong performance on their side. We just need to find some more performance to fight to them.”.
When Horner is asked whether next year we will see the same picture as during the first weekends of 2020. "“It’s almost like a 18 month’ year, isn’t it. That why we are working really hard behind the, scenes to get as much performance if we can to the car to the end of the season. Where we finish this year with, its going to next year. In Milton Keynes and Japan they work really hard," he says.
