Formula 1 will go to many new circuits in 2020. Portimao and Mugello appear for the first time on the F1 calendar, but we also see the return of Istanbul Park and Imola. What does Max Verstappen think of these developments?

F1 back to Turkey

The Formula 1 season of 2020 was shaken by the coronavirus. Many races were cancelled and eventually the management of Formula 1 had to work on a complete calendar. The season now counts a total of 17 races, including the return of the Turkish Grand Prix.

''Yes, that is certainly a beautiful circuit. I'm looking forward to driving there'', says Verstappen in an online press moment of Red Bull Racing about the circuit in Istanbul. Formula 1 was there for the last time in 2011 and was seen by many fans and drivers as a favourite track. Unfortunately, the Grand Prix disappeared from the calendar.

Verstappen happy with full calendar

With new races on the calendar, it will all be new for the drivers and teams when they get there. However, Verstappen is not worried about that. ''I've been to Mugello and Portimao myself,'' the Dutchman answers when asked if he has had another chance to explore the circuit in the simulator.

With 17 races Formula 1 has done a great job to still have a full F1 season. ''I think they managed to make it another good season. You now still have 17 races instead of 22. So that's absolutely well done'', concludes the driver of Red Bull.
