Bottas was on his own: "Couldn't profit on the straights"
No one can match the speed of Mercedes this weekend. During a qualifying session in which everyone tried to grab a slipstream, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas chose to look for the quiet moments. For Bottas this eventually resulted in P2.
Bottas had to do it alone
"It was really close as I was expecting. I was running first this weekend. Not sure with the tow, I obviously didn't have any, expect in Q2 at the end and it felt a bit of a benefit. In the end I was on my own, it's not too bad a place to be, but obviously I didn't get any gains on the straight line.
It's certainly not the first time this year that Bottas has fallen a little short of his teammate, but the Finn won't let that discourage him. "My long-run pace was good compared to Lewis. Still all to play for."
