Bottas: "I don't know if Red Bull is still so happy with this change"
Valtteri Bottas of Mercedes wonders how happy Red Bull is now with the ban on party modes, after his team dominated again in the qualification of the Italian Grand Prix. Indeed, Verstappen didn't get beyond P5 and Albon P9, while Bottas is on the first row of the grid behind Hamilton.
Bottas says he is very satisfied according to autosport.com. "Our speed in the long runs makes us look very strong. With the change in engine regulation for the modes, things are going to be even better for us in the race than before. Hopefully it will be a good race. I'm not sure Red Bull is still that happy with this change.
"What party mode?"
His teammate Lewis Hamilton says he didn't miss the party mode in qualifying. "I don't even know if we had a party mode," he jokes. "It's something someone else made up. Who says we used that at Spa in the first place?"
In the end the Brit was just a little faster than his teammate. Only 0.069 seconds separated Hamilton and Bottas in qualifying at Monza.
