Hamilton interferes with Red Bull: "I don't really understand that either"
- GPblog.com
For a long time Alexander Albon has been under pressure. The Thai is underperforming, but continues to get all the support from Red Bull Racing. This while Red Bull is known for quickly changing a driver when he doesn't perform well. Even Lewis Hamilton said after the Belgian GP that Red Bull missed a good second driver.
Horner calls it ironic
Red Bull team boss Christian Horner called Hamilton's statement 'ironic', but gave no further explanation. In front of Sky Deutschland's camera, consultant Helmut Marko explains Horner's statements further.
Marko explains
Marko announces that Hamilton is interfering in the affairs of Red Bull. "I don't really understand that either", says Marko. "Hamilton called us several times last year to say that we should give Albon a chance in the car."
Marko says that he is satisfied with the speed that Albon showed in qualifying compared to Max Verstappen. "He was almost three tenths behind Max today, which is an increase and is acceptable. Of course he has to get closer. We will see how it goes in the race. I can't understand what Lewis has said."
