Ricciardo found Mercedes disappointing: ''Expected Valtteri to come back''

Last Sunday, for a change, there was not even a victory for Mercedes. The team was a bit disappointing, especially in traffic. According to Daniel Ricciardo, Valtteri Bottas didn't seem so fast now.
After a dramatic first round Bottas got stuck in traffic during the Italian Grand Prix. While Hamilton managed to overtake several cars later in the race, Bottas even came under pressure from Max Verstappen. Daniel Ricciardo was therefore surprised by the performance of the Mercedes.
Mercedes not so fast, is it?
''Valtteri wasn't very fast for Mercedes terms. I caught up with him in the first round and actually expected him to come back, but that didn't happen. I know we weren't slow, but being faster than Mercedes was surprising. In the second stint I couldn't take advantage of his mistakes, but he didn't catch up with Lando Norris either," says Ricciardo according to Motorsport.com.
Ricciardo himself was just out of luck. ''The Safety Car fell at an unfortunate moment and so the Australian had to settle for sixth place. I enjoyed the race, but the conditions were just not right. But I wasn't the only one, so I'm not going to worry about that. It's part of the sport and we have to accept that'', the Renault rider concludes.
