Verstappen: "It's tough on the tyres with lots of fast corners"

This weekend the Formula 1 will drive on a circuit that was never on the calendar before and that creates an interesting prospect. One has to get to know the track and of course it remains to be seen to what extent the cars will be able to hold their own compared to the track in terms of tyres. In that sense, Verstappen sees a small advantage in the new track, but in the end it will make little difference to the race.
No track is the same
In an online press moment of Red Bull Racing Verstappen was presented that Mugello is completely different again. "That's right, Mugello is Mugello, Monza is Monza, Suzuka is Suzuka and Spa is Spa. None of the circuits resemble each other, so that's very well seen", Verstappen says somewhat sarcastically. Also, there aren't really certain elements of other tracks, so everyone is a bit in the dark.
"It's tough on the tyres with lots of fast corners. We'll see, it doesn't have to look like another track. We have very little information anyway, so it's just seeing how everything works," says Verstappen. The fact that everyone starts from scratch may have a small advantage, although Verstappen doesn't expect it to have much influence.
"Maybe in the first training session, but then, normally before qualifying, everyone comes back to how things are throughout the year." So when we hear Verstappen, he doesn't expect any surprises during the upcoming Grand Prix weekend.
