Bottas makes it a hat trick and tops FP3
Valtteri Bottas made it three out of three as he topped the final practice session at Mugello ahead of qualifying this afternoon. The Finn led for large portions of the session and pipped Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton to top spot.
Bottas on top
On Friday Bottas topped both sessions and he extended his good form in Tuscany into Saturday as he topped FP3 with a time of 1:16.530. The Finn has led all weekend with Max Verstappen and his teammate Hamilton just fractionally behind, particularly in sectors one and two. The question will be asked though, whether Bottas can pull it off in qualifying and then the race when the pressure is on.
Lance Stroll managed to secure fourth place for Racing Point with last week's race winner, Pierre Gasly putting in another good performance to come home in fifth. Sergio Perez (P6), Lance Stroll (P7), Alex Albon (P8), Daniil Kvyat (P9) and Romain Grosjean (P10) completed the top ten.
Sebastian Vettel finished down in 18th just days after being confirmed as Racing Point's driver for next season.
Meanwhile, Williams' first FP3 without the Williams family began in mixed fashion as George Russell failed to finish a lap with a brake problem, whilst Nicholas Latifi was 16th.
