Gasly again with both feet on the ground: ''I went for a gap''

Pierre Gasly is back with both feet on the ground. While the Frenchman was the winner of the Italian Grand Prix, his race at Mugello was already over after two corners.
After a strong weekend in Monza, Gasly has once again experienced what it is like to be a driver in midfield. The Frenchman had a bad result in qualifying and had to come from a long way back. In turn two he took perhaps a little too much risk by sticking his nose between Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean and had to pay for it with a crash.

''It's a pity the race was over so soon for us. It was pretty messy after the first corner and I saw some space between Kimi and Romain. I went for that hole, but I got into the middle and couldn't get anywhere after it. Then we crashed and the race was over," says Gasly, AlphaTauri's press release.
Gasly went for the gap, but doesn't see that as a mistake. ''I don't think you can blame anyone for that incident, but it's a shame because we had a good chance to score points here. We now need to take the positive points and come back to Russia stronger'', concludes the winner of the Italian Grand Prix.
