Stroll: "Criticism will always be there"
- GPblog.com
Some people say Lance Stroll owes his seat in Formula 1 to the money of father Lawrence. The billionaire's money of course helped him into F1 with Williams in 2017 and then took over Force India (now renamed Racing Point), and Stroll was signed up for 2019. Next year he'll be able to show next to Sebastian Vettel what he's capable of as the Aston Martin F1 Team.
Stroll was not seen as a great talent on his debut in Formula 1. With several years of experience in the royal class of motorsport, he is certainly doing well alongside Sergio Perez in 2020.
Stroll not touched by criticism
"Criticism will always be there," Stroll tells Natalie Pinkham. "I think it's just the way it is. I realised that a long time ago. Everyone has their opinion. I'm just doing my job on the track and trying to stay in my own little bubble and block out the negativity and noise from outside."
The Racing Point driver continues his story in the podcast: "When you are successful at something, you try to pursue your dreams. There are people in this world who are frustrated or jealous in any form. They try to pull you down with them and that's the world we live in."
Stroll expects negativity to remain
Stroll therefore tries to take as little notice as possible of criticism from the outside world. "There will always be negativity. I'm just trying to keep it positive and listen to the people around me. In the end, that's all that matters. You can't satisfy everyone, you can't be everyone's best friend in this world, that's not how it works," he concludes his story.
