Alexander Albon already had a disappointing qualifying session in Sochi, with tenth place while Max Verstappen finished second. On Sunday morning, however, Albon's problems only got worse after it was announced that Red Bull Racing was going to replace the gearbox of the Thai.

As a result, Albon will not start the race from tenth starting position, but from 15th. Moreover, he starts on the softest tyre, so it looks like it is not going to be an easy race for the driver of Red Bull, who managed to get a podium in Mugello a fortnight ago.

Albon not the only one with grid penalty

Nicholas Latifi will also be given a five-place grid penalty, because the Canadian gearbox has to be replaced. Because Latifi qualified 19th, he only falls back one place and has to start the race from 20th place.
