Sainz: 'Then it's easier to leave something behind'

Carlos Sainz's season has many ups and downs. The Spaniard generally performs well with the car that McLaren has built this season. The highlight of this season so far was achieved in Italy, where he came second after an exciting race.
Results do not reflect performance
Sainz' performance this season is not disappointing. The 26-year-old driver from Madrid is very fast, but the results he has achieved this season do not always show this. Then it's the pit stops where things go wrong, he couldn't start in Belgium due to an engine problem and at Mugello he was involved in a mega crash at the restart.
No control
Sainz is not very worried about it. "If it's something you can't control, it's actually quite easy to leave it behind," he explains to Motorsport.com. Sainz talks about 'bad luck' this season and therefore the disappointment is less.
"I am very satisfied with my driving, my qualifications, my starts and what I show in the races. If nothing happens that I can't control, I just know that I can score a good result in the race, like I did in Spain or Monza," says Sainz. The Spaniard says his bad luck will stop and the good results will come naturally.
