Tanabe: "Have enough data from the chassis and the PU"
Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon will start the Eifel Grand Prix from third and fifth respectively on behalf of Red Bull. For AlphaTauri drivers Pierre Gasly and Daniil Kvyat, it was 12th and 13th place during qualifying. With a free choice of tyres, however, there is a chance of the World Championship points. Honda are therefore satisfied.
Exercise for Imola
The entire Friday was cancelled due to the dense fog in the German Eifel. “It meant we only had an hour in the morning to fine-tune the car-PU package before qualifying and the race. Added to this, it was the first time to run the hybrid PUs on this track, so that made it even busier. It was good practice for the official two-day weekend in Imola," said Tanabe in a press release.
“Max produced another very strong performance and Albon also did well for Aston Martin Red Bull Racing to claim third and fifth on the grid," the Honda CEO continues.
Strong race expected
"Low track temperatures are expected again tomorrow, but we have enough data from the chassis and PU side, to be prepared for any conditions and we're ready for a competitive race," Tanabe concludes.
