Ricciardo confident: "That's all behind us now"

Behind Mercedes and Red Bull Racing it is an exciting battle in the Constructors' Championship. Racing Point, McLaren and Renault compete for third place with only six points the difference between the third and fifth place teams. Daniel Ricciardo is confident that Renault can win that battle.
Confidence in the car
Since the Belgian Grand Prix, Renault have always finished in the top six with Daniel Ricciardo, which clearly shows the line-up for the French team. "The rear of the car has picked up a lot of downforce, so that's given us drivers confidence to nail the throttle and get off the corner better," Ricciardo explained what is behind the improved performance to Motorsport.com. Updates made around Silverstone in particular made it easier to find the right setup. "The car wasn't so hit-or-miss anymore."
Problems have been left behind
"Last year I felt we, at times, could be very fast or well outside the top ten. I think now we're just able to sit in that sweet spot." Renault's performance has clearly been there in the last few races, with Ricciardo's podium finish at the Nürburgring the highlight. Earlier this season, Renault's main problems were on the high downforce circuits such as Spain and Hungary, but they seemed to be over at that at the Nürburging. "The car has been feeling great and feeling strong. So you know that's all behind us now. It certainly gives us a lot of confidence," concluded the Australian.
