Honda hoping to maintain momentum in Portugal

Red Bull Racing and Honda already know that their collaboration will come to an end, but that does not alter the fact that Honda will continue to work hard to achieve better results. Starting with the Portuguese Grand Prix this weekend.
Unique preparation
In Portimao, there is a challenging circuit waiting for the Formula 1 drivers. The circuit has many curves, but also some parts where the power of the engine will be important.
''In Mugello, and actually, at the Nürburgring, we had to prepare for a circuit where we had never raced in the hybrid era, and some of the experience we gained at those circuits in terms of how we prepared ourselves will come in handy this weekend as well," Toyoharu Tanabe said in the preview of Honda.
Podium on Sunday
''We've done a lot of simulation work with our two teams to compensate for the lack of previous data and we are satisfied with our preparation work for this race. It means that the three hours of free practice on Friday will be particularly important for the rest of the weekend.
''In the last few races both Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri have been very competitive and we hope to continue that momentum here in Portugal. The last time I was at a Portuguese GP was the 1990 race at Estoril, when Ayrton Senna finished second and Gerhard Berger fourth: it gives us a good target for this Sunday," concluded the Honda top man.
