Szafnauer doesn't understand 'ridiculous' Verstappen
Otmar Szafnauer, team boss at Racing Point, blames Max Verstappen for the colission between the Dutchman and Lance Stroll during the second free practice session in Portugal.
Verstappen was overtaken by Stroll just before entering his fast lap and tried to overtake the Canadian when he entered Turn 1. However, Verstappen didn't know Stroll was continuing for a second flying lap, and hit the Racing Point.
Verstappen knew where Stroll was
The pair are reporting to the stewards, but for team boss Otmar Szafnauer of Racing Point it is clear who was to blame.
"Max didn't realise we were driving two fast laps in a row, he shouldn't have driven there. This is ridiculous. What was he trying to achieve?" he says to Sky Sports. According to him Verstappen knew Stroll was there and not the other way around.
