Verstappen contradicts Wolff: "Overtaking is just very difficult with these cars"

Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff strongly criticised Formula 1 by stating that 'Formula 1 is doing everything in its power to stop Mercedes'. Max Verstappen rejects this suggestion and thinks that F1 with Liberty Media as the owner takes good measures by listening to drivers and teams.
Verstappen doesn't agree with Wolff
Because of the coronavirus, some drastic measures have been taken by the F1. The announced new regulations in sport have been postponed for a number of years, the development of certain aspects of the car will be frozen and engine development may also be restricted until 2022.
In addition, many changes will be made so that drivers and teams can continue to race. Max Verstappen believes that it is precisely in this area that the F1 management is doing well. They don't work against Mercedes; on the contrary, they listen carefully to what the teams and drivers want.
Overtaking is very difficult
De Telegraaf quotes the Dutchman: "I think it's more like the owners are listening to the teams and drivers. Catching up with these cars is just very difficult. You saw that well in Imola. I drove behind Valtteri Bottas. He was four-tenths slower than normal because of damage, but I didn't get past him!"
"When I did manage to pass him, you saw how much faster I was. In MotoGP, you can still win the race if you start in tenth place. That's hardly possible in F1 because it's so difficult to follow. That's why there will be new regulations. And you can't tell at all yet whether Mercedes will be slowed down."
