Red Bull Racing advisor Helmut Marko speaks of an extraordinary Friday in Turkey. He does, however, praise Max Verstappen for the good work he did during the first two difficult practice sessions.

"The first practice was extraordinary for me. The conditions were the same for everyone and no one warmed up the tyres. They did an egg dance and Verstappen did it best," says Marko in conversation with Motorsport-Magazin.com.

In Portimao the drivers also had major problems with the grip. According to Marko, Verstappen had already explored the track at the time with his own Porsche. "Due to the new asphalt he couldn't recognise the track. That's why he wasn't in a good mood there all weekend."

In Turkey there is also a new layer of asphalt, but this time Verstappen had never previously visited the track. "It's the same for everyone there," concludes Marko.
