Unlike Red Bull Racing and Valtteri Bottas, Ferrari can look back on the Turkish Grand Prix with a good feeling. With a third and fourth place, in Istanbul the team managed to score the most points of all teams and on top of that Sebastian Vettel scored his first podium of 2020.

Mattia Binotto was not there in Turkey, because he preferred factory work to travelling to the race. Nevertheless, he followed the race closely. "After a difficult Saturday, it's nice to finish on Sunday as the team that got the most points. We knew that, under those circumstances, it would be a race for those who would least make the mistake," Binotto explains. Motorsport.com.

Right strategic choices

"I think we did a great job as a team, especially when you look at the strategy. We made bold choices and we made them at the right time." This allowed Charles Leclerc to drive to the front, while Vettel was already driving there because of a very good start. Binotto even sees points that could be improved.

"We could have scored even better with both drivers on the podium. We worked hard on it at the track and in Maranello, after everything went wrong on Saturday. I think the result on Sunday really was a collective achievement. We made up for it in the championship, but the gap is still big. Our goal is to continue the upward trend to the last three races in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi," Binotto concluded.
