Perez puts fate in Red Bull's hands: 'In F1 it's not always about speed'

Sergio Perez again experienced a special highlight in his career this weekend by finishing second in the Turkish Grand Prix. It shows once again the qualities of the Mexican, who is still without a seat for 2021.
Perez has had a season of ups and downs in 2020. The Mexican started the season strong with two sixth and one seventh places, but had to miss the races at Silverstone due to an infection with the coronavirus. However, Perez has since shown that he is the clear leader at Racing Point and is now fourth in the standings, despite missing two races.
Perez the best in midfield?
With 100 points, Perez has almost double the points of his teammate, Lance Stroll (59), but it is Perez who will have to make way for Sebastian Vettel at the end of this season. ''I haven't had a trouble-free season, because a lot of things have happened. We had a good car at the start of the season, but because of COVID I missed two races and then I lost my place for 2021," Perez said to Sky.
The Mexican is on Red Bull Racing's radar, but with Nico Hulkenberg as a competitor, a seat there is no guarantee either. ''Formula 1 is not all about the speed of the driver, as we have already seen with other drivers. There are many more things that play a role and therefore my future is not in my hands now," concludes Perez.
