Ocon disappointed with results, believes he had 'the pace for top 5' in Turkey

French driver Esteban Ocon, who represents the Renault team on the track this year, spin not just once but twice in Turkey, finishing in eleventh place, without any points. That's too bad, Ocon said, as the pace of Renault was much better.
In an interview with Formula1.com, the Frenchman analyses his race as follows: “I got a flying start, and I was very happy with being third or fourth”, he added. “But then Lewis hit Daniel and then Daniel hit me in the first corner.
"And then I got hit again in Turn 9, so for the rest of the lap I had a puncture, and from then on our race was compromised. So the only thing I would say is – onto the next one.”
The speed of the Renault in Turkey makes the lost points harder to deal with, says Ocon: “A lot of bad luck recently, and it’s tough to digest because I think we had a good car for a top-five today or at least good points. So we are disappointed obviously.”
Bad news for Renault
With eleventh place for Ocon and tenth for his teammate Ricciardo, Renault did not do a good job for the constructors' classification. At the moment, the French team is fifth, with just six points ahead of Ferrari.
