- GPblog.com
Jos Verstappen is possibly going to make his comeback in motorsport. Max's father was seen on Instagram in a Porsche GT3 and which confirms that he is thinking about returning to motorsport.
The return of Verstappen
Verstappen drove 106 Grands Prix in Formula 1 between 1994 and 2003 and after his career in the premier league of motorsport, he also took part in the A1 Grand Prix for the Netherlands and raced in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. After that Verstappen started to focus on his son Max, who started to show more and more talent.
On Tuesday, however, Jos' Instagram account showed a photo in which he is with a Porsche GT3, so there was an immediate question as to whether he was interested in racing again. Opposite De Limburger, Verstappen tells us that he is indeed looking at the possibilities again.
Jos back on the track?
''It's just fun. I have been approached for this project and the first impressions are good. Max is based in Formula 1, so I don't have to be there all the time. Together with Raymond Vermeulen, we have done just fine. So I have a little more time to deal with other things," says Jos, who can't come close too his son anymore, as it turned out during a day of testing at Portimao with Max.
''I liked that very much, although I can't match Max, of course. I don't like sprint races anymore, but a bit of competition can't hurt. That always stays in me'', the Dutchman concludes enthusiastically.
