Norris struggles in Bahrain: "I am not as confident as I want to be"
Lando Norris didn't have the best of days in Bahrain. During the first free practice, he finished 18th fastest and during the second free practice a reasonable seventh place. And that while the McLaren driver has good memories after he scored his first Formula 1 points at the venue last season.
Not an easy day
"It's been mixed. I think it's not been the easiest day for me. I will look into why but I struggled a bit in P1 because there was a lot of tyres that we were trying and I didn't get into a good rhythm," Norris told Sky Sports.
Fortunately, things went a lot better in the second free practice. "FP2 was happier but there is still a few things to work on."
Not so confident
The changeable first day does not help Norris's self-confidence. "I am not as confident as I want to be but with more time in FP3 we should be okay. The softs have a lot of degradation. It's not going to be easy if we are to get into Q3 on the softs then it's difficult to have a long run with them," the Brit concluded.
