Social media reacts to Schumacheer to Haas, Russell to Merc and Aitken to WIlliams
It has been an incredible morning in the world of Formula 1 as Mick Schumacher was confirmed as Haas' second driver for 2021. But there was also news from Mercedes and Williams, as they announced George Russell and Jack Aitken respectively for their seats this weekend in Bahrain, following Lewis Hamilton's withdrawal. Here's how the world of social media reacted!
The driver announcements
George Russell's news came first, and his hard work at Williams is paying off, as he was rewarded with the promotion! He'll team up with Valtteri Bottas whilst Jack Aitken joins Williams for the Sakhir Grand Prix.
Very few people are lucky enough to drive for an @F1 team each year. I'm about to get the chance to drive for two.

Baby Mick
The worst kept secret in F1 was next as Mick Schumacher was confirmed for Haas in 2021. The German will partner Nikita Mazepin next season after the Russian was confirmed yesterday.
Always believed that this dream will become true! Racing for Haas F1 Team next year is an incredible feeling, and I couldn’t be happier. Thanks to everyone who supported me all the way! @HaasF1Team #HaasF1 #F1 @ScuderiaFerrari @insideFDA #essereFerrari pic.twitter.com/RgKrXUdKrk

It’s interesting to think there are two drivers who have also driven against Mick’s father, Michael Schumacher. Raikkonen and Alonso. Mick was only two years old when Kimi and Fernando drove their first GP in Melbourne in 2001. pic.twitter.com/NscNDeo0YC

I’ve been rooting for Russell all season especially after his near misses in his search for his first F1 point! Looking forward to see him getting his opportunity, well deserved and good luck to Jack Aitken too! https://t.co/n4RgTqTXPY
