F2 champion Schumacher: 'I would feel better if I had a good race'
- GPblog.com
Mick Schumacher became champion in Formula 2 earlier on Sunday, but not with his best race of the season. He only finished 18th in the sprint race, but because direct competitor Callum Ilott also failed to score points, Schumacher became champion.
Not a good race
After the sprint race Schumacher is not completely satisfied. "I would feel better if I had a good race today, but it was enough," he told Natalie Pinkham.
Still, Schumacher knows that it's not just one race, but the whole season that counts. "That's what people will remember. They will forget today's race and only see the good times of this year. I will too."
Thank the team
Schumacher clearly shows his gratitude for his team PREMA Racing. "I am so happy and grateful to have been working with these people. I really can say they’re all friends of mine," says an emotional Schumacher. "I owe it all to them. I want to say 'I love you' to those guys. They’re the best."
