Verstappen perhaps a little too cautious? "Normally he's assertive"

Max Verstappen's race was quickly over at the Sakhir Grand Prix, because Charles Leclerc went into the corner just a little too enthusiastically. Normally Verstappen is on top of it, but now his caution might have cost him his head.
Normally Verstappen is just the man who puts his car in between at the start, but in Sakhir Verstappen showed once again that he is more and more experienced as a driver. He stayed out of the duel for a while to avoid damage, but in the end he was still stuck with the fried pears. A mistake made by Leclerc put him out of business.
Maybe he stepped a little too cautiously.
''The strange thing is that he is often assertive. He sits in the right place and puts him in between. Now he's in the right place too, but he just thought 'I'll go and see how it goes and then he's in the tyre piles,'' says the presenter of RTL GP Slipstream, Allard Kalff at the beginning of the broadcast.
''It's a bit sour and not the Max. He thought he could avoid the chaos that always arises, while he normally dives between them. Now, however, there was no more room and he slips into the piles of tyres. He became a victim of his own caution, while he had a very good chance of winning. So it was very sour,'' according to Kees van de Grint.
