Albon sees improvement in himself: "I'm not focusing on Perez"

Alexander Albon had to settle for sixth place last weekend while his direct competitor for the 2021 Red Bull seat, Sergio Perez, came from the very back after the first lap and won the race. Albon, however, says he is concentrating on his own performance.
And he is not entirely dissatisfied with that, he says at the press conference in Abu Dhabi according to Formule1.nl. "I'm not focusing on Sergio, I'm focusing on myself. The last few races have been going reasonably well, apart from qualifying in Bahrain," says Albon, who finished 12th last week.
Albon has evolved
Albon admits that the year did not turn out quite as he expected, but he is mainly trying to see the situation. He feels that he has indeed improved compared with the previous year.
"Mentally and in terms of driving too. I also understand Formula 1 better, I feel I have more control over it," said Albon, who is happy that the season is almost over. "It's good to be back home after this, but there's still plenty at stake and I'm looking forward to it".
