Final starting grid for Abu Dhabi GP: Verstappen on pole, multiple grid penalties
- GPblog.com
After yesterday's great qualifying session, in which he took his first pole position of the season, it's time for the last race of the season for Max Verstappen. What does the final starting grid for the Abu Dhabi grand prix look like?
For many drivers little changes. Verstappen is still on pole while Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton are still behind him. The whole top eight has remained the same, with Norris at four, Albon at five, Sainz at six, Kvyat at seven and Stroll at eight.
Grid penalties
Behind that, however, a number of things have changed. Charles Leclerc has dropped from the ninth to the 12th place due to a grid penalty. As a result, Gasly, Ocon and Ricciardo all rise one place. Also at the back of the grid some things have changed. Sergio Perez and Kevin Magnussen start from the rear places on the grid because of some new engine parts they had to install.
This makes it almost time for the last race of the season. Don't want to miss anything from the Abu Dhabi race? Then follow our live blog!
