''That didn't stop Verstappen from wringing everything out of the RB16''

Max Verstappen ended his season in style with a victory in Abu Dhabi. Lawrence Barretto, journalist for Formula1.com, writes in his analysis about the performance of Verstappen in 2020.
Verstappen was hoping that in 2020 he, together with Red Bull Racing and Honda, could finally compete for the world title, but once again Mercedes was one size too big. Verstappen tried to squeeze it all out for a year but was just short of second place in the standings. That went to Valtteri Bottas after all.
Verstappen squeezes everything out
"The Red Bull hasn’t been strong enough to challenge for the world championship in 2020, but that hasn’t stopped Verstappen wringing the neck of the RB16 – and he did just that in Abu Dhabi to clinch his second victory of the season," says Barretto in his article.
"It wasn’t quite enough to snatch second from Valtteri Bottas in the drivers’ standings, but his 11th podium in 17 races shows incredible consistency while equalling his best-ever haul in a single season. In winning, Red Bull ended Mercedes’ run of six consecutive victories at Yas Marina, the Silver Arrows previously unbeaten in the turbo-hybrid era, as well as giving everyone hope they may genuinely be able to take the fight to the world champions next year," concludes Barretto.
