Ricciardo found Formula 1 season sometimes quite 'stressful

We had to wait a long time for races to start in 2020. Mainly for all teams it was a fierce season, with a lot of races in a very short time. Daniel Ricciardo tells the In The Fast Lane Podcast how it felt to experience the season during the coronavirus pandemic.
The season only started in July. For the drivers, this sometimes meant two races on the same circuit. According to Daniel, this was a season that 'felt very long, but at the same time was also very fast'.
“‘I think now that it’s all over, I feel that it was stressed. I think moments were great in terms of like back-to-back races in the same location. You know we didn’t have to worry about jumping on a flight. There were some moments that actually felt more relaxed for our sleep and recovery.”
Mentally tough season
The Australian is also asked if he thought the season was mentally difficult. “If you travel and you’re out in another city, and you want to try to go to a restaurant, then you’re stressed and panicked. And if someone comes up to you, you’re like ‘don’t get to close’. It was weird.”
"You know sometimes I wanted to be a bit more relaxed about it. But then you heard a story and I was like no I got to be alert about it. It was a bit stressful, but I’m honestly really happy that the season got done in 17 races, that was pretty phenomenal in about 6 months. I’m happy with the outcome for sure. It was a very long year but also a very fast year," concludes the future McLaren driver.
