Romain Grosjean had to sit on the sidelines for a while after his severe crash in Bahrain to recover well, but tonight will be the first race since his accident. The former Haas F1 driver will drive for his own R8G Esports team in the virtual VCO ProSim Series on Saturday.
First race since the accident
Grosjean has yet to make a full recovery after his huge hit in Bahrain, but is still taking part in the virtual race. "I am very happy to start racing again. I am not back to 100% yet, but it is still important for me to take the VCO ProSim Series seriously as it deserves to be," says the Frenchman according to SpeedWeek.com.
Recovery goes better and better
Grosjean's hands suffered the most when his car caught fire at the Bahrain International Circuit. "My hands are recovering better and better, but I still have problems with my left hand. The biggest problem is my left thumb. I can only bend it to a limited extent," the 34-year-old driver says about his recovery.
The race for tonight's championship will start at 20:10 for Grosjean. At 19:50 the Esporters will qualify. The full event can be followed live on YouTube.
