Sainz has tough challenge ahead of first Ferrari season
- GPblog.com
Carlos Sainz is expecting to have a challenge on his hands when he starts his Ferrari racing career in March. The Spaniard gets into a brand new Ferrari, which he can only test for a day and a half during the wintertests. The Spaniard is trying to enjoy the challenge.
Heavy challenge for Sainz
Because of the rule changes around the preseason winter tests there is a lot less time to drive the new cars. For the drivers who make a switch to another team this will be an extra challenge. For example, Sainz also expects to have some trouble with his Ferrari in the first race, as he can only test for a day and a half.
In January, the Spaniard already has some test hours planned in an old Ferrari; everything to get as accustomed as possible to his new equipment. Talking to Motorsport.com, Sainz talks about the upcoming challenge.
Sainz needs experience at Ferrari
"I know that I'm going to arrive to Ferrari, and I'm going to need my races and my experiences to get to know how to extract the maximum out of that car. If you add that it looks like I'm going to get one-and-a-half days of testing, and I'm going to go straight into my first race with only one day and a half of testing in a brand new car."
"I like those kind of challenges. I'll try and adapt myself as well as possible and as best I can, and see what I can get out of it."
