Verstappen doesn't agree with critics: 'RB16 better car than the Williams'

Max Verstappen's RB16 seemed very restless at the rear, certainly at the beginning of 2020. However, according to Verstappen himself, all that was not so bad and he believes that the media is making more of it than what it was.
RB16 not so bad after all
It actually started with the winter tests when Alexander Albon and Verstappen spun several times in Barcelona. The two seem to be struggling with the back of the car, but even at that moment they do not admit that the car is difficult to drive. Also at the end of the season Verstappen doesn't see this as an negative of the RB16.
''I think it was made bigger in the media, because we just had the second car on the grid. I think there are much worse cars to drive. We had some moments in preparation, but when you drive at the limit of a car it is never easy to drive. Maybe our comparison with Mercedes is harder, but probably better than the Williams,'' says Verstappen to Motorsport-total.com.
Constant season for Verstappen
''It's a bit of an exaggeration what people say in the media, because I've never felt that way,'' says Verstappen, who also goes into his own performance. ''I think it was better than in 2019, more constant. I've been a bit alone in some races, just chasing Mercedes. The car wasn't bad, but we just lost something on Mercedes.''
''I'm not frustrated, but sometimes you feel powerless. I'm trying to get the best out of it and I think we've done that in most cases, so that's good,'' the Red Bull rider concludes.
