Stroll proud of his son: 'For a 21-year-old that's very impressive'

When Lance Stroll made his Formula 1 debut for Williams in 2017, no one expected him to still be in Formula 1 three years later. In those three years, Stroll has been on the podium three times and last season he achieved pole position for the first time. His father, Lawrence Stroll, is therefore satisfied with his son.
"Lance's performance on the track last year was extremely impressive for a 21 year old driver. He achieved pole in Turkey, in the rain. We all know it's more about the driver in the rain. He also led the race for thirty laps until part of the front wing broke off," Stroll explains in conversation with the BBC.
Podiums with Aston Martin
"Then he also got two podium finishes and of course some bad luck, like the band that broke down in Mugello. That probably would have been a podium as well". Stroll is happy that the Canadian can hunt for even more podiums next season at Aston Martin.
"As any father would wish for his son, I hope he can get the most out of himself. As long as it makes him happy. Last year we had a strong car and this year we have even more enthusiasm and motivation from working with Aston Martin. We have more people and there will be a new factory. Lance's performance last year shows that he can also perform well next year", concludes Stroll.
