Minardi speaks about honour of Imola returning to 2021 calendar

Next year Formula 1 returns to the legendary circuit in Imola. Last year the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix was held there and next year the Italians have a second home race. Imola worked hard to get the circuit on the calendar in 2021 as well, explained circuit president Gian Carlo Minardi to Corriere Dello Sport.
Minardi has not been in his new position long but he has already ensured that Formula 1 will return to Imola on 18 April. "It is an honour that we can start fireworks right away. With just under a hundred days before the race, we can once again give Imola the attention it deserves." Imola was on the calendar for a long time, but the circuit disappeared from the calendar in 2006.
Imola ready for longer stay
"Formula 1 has changed a lot since then. Every day we are improving on the things we learned in November and that has given us the chance to be there more often in the future."
"Of course, it also depends on whether fans are allowed to attend. We will be vigilant and we are also ready to respond to the situation. We are already planning how the next few months will look like and we are doing our best to have all the necessities to be ready more often in the future," Minardi concluded.
