Adrian Campos has died at the age of 60. Campos Racing announced the news of the death of their team principal and former Formula One driver on Thursday morning.
Campos was actively involved in motorsport until the very end. As a young boy he fell in love with racing and was even able to realise his dream with a debut in Formula 1 for Minardi. His career was not a glittering one, Campos competed in 21 Grands Prix, but only finished in two, with his highest ranking being 14th in Spain.

Campos, however, made a lasting impression after his career in Formula 1. As the manager of his own team Campos Racing, he deposed Marc Gené in F1 and, a few years later, also proved to be the discoverer of Fernando Alonso. In addition to talent, he also achieved great results by winning the GP2 title as a team in 2008, as well as the Euroformula Open in 2016.
On Friday morning, however, his team announced the sad news. ''Today is the saddest day in the history of Campos Racing. Our President and founder, Adrián Campos Suñer, has left us. His heart stopped beating, but his memory will be the engine that will keep us all fighting to continue his legacy... May he rest in peace," read the statement.
