The 24 hour race of Daytona is now 17 hours underway. Most of the Dutch drivers are not doing so well, with Racing Team Nederland dropping out. This is not the case for Renger van der Zande, who leads the race with seven hours to go.

Van der Zande is thus in a good position with the 01 Cadillac of Chip Ganassi Racing. However, he is closely followed by the Acura of Helio Castroneves, resulting in an exciting battle.

There is still a long way to go, however, and in a long-distance race the order can just get completely shaken up.

Update: Van der Zande has just come in for his pit stop and has been relieved by teammate Kevin Magnussen.
