Grosjean: "I think he's ready to take the bull by the horns"

If Red Bull Racing are able to build on last year's performances, Sergio Perez will step into a top car for the first time in his career this year. He has, of course, previously driven a season for McLaren when they were counted among the top teams, but according to Romain Grosjean we could see the best version of Perez at Red Bull.
McLaren took a wrong turn after a pretty successful 2012, after which they are yet to find their way back to the top. Perez struggled in 2013, even though he didn't score that many fewer points in the final standings.

Grosjean explained in the latest edition of Italian magazine Autosprint that he expects Perez to do well now. With Red Bull's car he should be able to achieve good results and the extra years of experience will help him.
"This is an excellent opportunity for Checo, a great opportunity. I am happy that this has happened to him and I am confident that he will do well with a top team," Grosjean told Autosprint as quoted by F1Maximaal.nl.
"This will be his second chance, given the failed attempt he had at McLaren. However, the situation is different for Perez now. I think he's ready to take the bull by the horns."
So the car makes a big difference. It's the reality of Formula 1 and so it doesn't just apply to Perez at Red Bull. "If we had put Hamilton in the Haas last year, he wouldn't have been able to do anything. Russell's foray into Sakhir is the perfect example of the difference the car actually makes," Grosjean said.
